Myriam Siftar, president of MTM LinguaSoft, took part today in a panel presentation on website globalization at an Export University course sponsored by the U.S. Commercial Service and the Mid-Atlantic District Export Council (DEC).

Today’s session, which is one of four Export University courses being given in the Philadelphia area, was devoted to market penetration considerations. The course took place at the offices of the Chester County Economic Development Council in Exton. Siftar’s panel looked at integrating websites into a market penetration strategy.

Siftar, who has been appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to a four-year term on board of the Mid-Atlantic DEC, spoke about the process of designing and translating a globalized website. MTM LinguaSoft specializes in the translation of websites and interactive applications.

Export University courses are aimed at giving area businesses the tools they need to expand into foreign markets. Today’s session was the second of four courses, the first of which, “Preparing to Do Business Overseas,” was held at the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center in January. Upcoming courses will deal with “Joint Ventures and Licensing & Bid and Performance Bonds” (Lehigh University, May 27) and “Adapting Products to Individual Markets” (Small Business Administration, Philadelphia, July 29).
